What To Do In Between Visits?

I get asked a lot, what do I do in between visits? The best thing you can do in between visits is to practice stretching on your own. I know it’s time consuming and boring, haha, but it can really help make a difference. As a practitioner I have to remember to do this in between my own stretch therapy appointments and I have found some stretches that work wonders for me, so I thought I would share them.

If you have lower back pain, one stretch I love to share is the Windshield Wipers. It’s easy and can be done while watching T.V.!! All you have to do is lay down on your back, knees bent, take a deep breath in and let your knees fall to either side. Do not force them to the ground, simply let gravity do the work for you. As an added bonus it could cause your back to pop, which is ok, don’t worry. Do this a few times to both sides. I usually like to repeat the process three times on each side. Here is a video I found online as a demonstration….

Windshield Wiper Stretch . There are a few videos out there that show the individual with their knees off the ground, I prefer to keep them on the ground because I feel more stable that way. You can choose what feels better for you.

Another stretch I enjoy doing is called Dead Bugs. It’s such an odd name but it helps build a strong core. I learned this stretch when I injured my back a few years back and had to go to physical Therapy. I felt silly doing it but building a strong core will help prevent back injuries, so let the silliness begin! Watch it here Dead Bugs .

I hope this helps! Keep practicing your stretching in between visits and if you have any questions or need more recommendations, let me know!!

See you soon!!

Best,
